The Student Sports Committee (SSC) organized a successful one-day team building trip to Air Papan Beach, Mersing, Johor on March 11, 2023!

First Aid Unit of Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) Johor Branch successfully organized a Blood Donation Campaign on February 22, 2023, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at ICT Centre, TAR UMT Johor Branch. The event aimed to assist Hospital Segamat in increasing its blood supply to aid those in need. BP Healthcare @ Segamat also participated in the campaign.

The top 5 finalists battled it out in the final round, playing at an "Intensive" difficulty level, with Mok Shen Lin emerging as the first-place winner and taking home a prize of RM50! Tay Chee Sheng and Wong Sher Yuan claimed the second and third places, respectively, and received awards of RM30 and RM20.

Department of Social Science and Hospitality, Johor Branch had organized an event called 'Sharing the Blessings of Ramadhan' on 7th April 2023. It took place during the glory month of Ramadhan. It was an event where all the lecturers and some of Diploma in Hotel Management's students working together to prepare 250 packs of 'Bubur Lambuk' to be given to all staff in Johor Branch and to be shared among several mosques in Segamat area. 

The Department of Accounting and Business (DACB) at TAR UMT Johor Branch recently organised a book donation drive to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. All of the donated books were given to an orphanage (Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Bestari, Segamat) and a community library (Perpustakaan Mini Tokong Ngoh Wang Ngain) to provide quality reading materials to those in need.

The Chinese Language Society of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College Johor Branch had successfully organized a Chinese Calligraphy Competition at TAR UMT Johor Branch Business Centre. The aim of this meaningful event is to cultivate participants' interest in Chinese culture and to give participants a chance to showcase their Chinese calligraphy skills. This event was held on 19 March 2023 Sunday starting from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm. 

RAF Year 2 Semester 3 students have gone to various Schools,Tuition Centres and Cafes to raise awareness among the public regarding various Malaysian issues based on their latest research findings they have conducted.

This project aimed to help the B40 group with an aim to alleviate their burden and struggle to put food on the table. ‘Cooking for Charity’ is a charity program that involved students and lecturers to work together to cook a number of dishes. Benefits reaped from completing the Cooking for Charity are communication, project management, social interaction and social responsibility among all the participants.

3 reputable senior lecturers from UITM Segamat (namely Mr. Oswald Timothy Edward, Dr. Muhammad Majid and Dr. Mohamad Faizal Ramli ) to come over to TAR UMT Segamat for a campus visit and to have a simple table talk followed by luncheon in the social event organised by our very own Diploma in Hotel Management students for their course Social and Work Etiquettes on 10th May 2023 from 12noon to 2pm at our very own Garden Café located at Block D of TAR UMT Johor Branch 

Lecturers from TAR UMT Main Campus and Johor Branch have successfully organized a camp for some selected students from Pay Fong High School.

The Small Entrepreneurial Community Development Project kick started with The plan of UITM Segamat turning the allocated area at Kampung Londah to an Entrepreneurial area for this poor community who lives at Desa E-Kasih. The UITM lecturers have successfully initiated the first project on their own which is to do chili fertigation. This round with TAR UMT students joining in we kick started with the project of planting vegetables like Sawi & Ladies Fingers. We also invited our TAR UMT Senior Lecturer, Dr.Hoe Yin Chen, who is well versatile in Farming and Agriculture to give some insights and teach both UITM & TAR UMT students on the right way of planting these vegetables.

The festinating festival was held on November 25th at Foon Yew High School in Johor. The event featured thought-provoking activities in both the mind and STEM pavilions. In addition to advocating the love of sciences, these pavilion activities, curated by various universities and companies, also aimed to foster a profound understanding of STEM across various fields. The overarching goal encompasses synergizing the mind with STEM principles and showcasing the usefulness of STEM-related cognitive prowess in the STEM Festival. Participating students grabbed the opportunity to collect a mystery gift after engaging in a series of exhilarating activities. The festival left a lasting impression on students, and they found it enlightening and enjoyable. Through the exposure, they treasure the delight that the sciences bring into their lives. The STEM festival was not only highly educational but also provided students with valuable insights and knowledge in the realm of STEM. 

This competition was organised with the aim to creates fun and discover the sense of mental stimulation among students. The competition has received an overwhelming participation with a total of 62 students across different faculties. Sudoku is a logic puzzle, where people use deductive reasoning and search for patterns to find out where to place missing numbers on the grid. This competition has become a significant platform for students to demonstrate their problem-solving skills. Most importantly, it is a healthy competition among students through academic-based activities. 

The Department of Applied Sciences and Agriculture, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Johor Branch have conducted two days field visit for DAQ Year 1 students (DAQ Industry Field Trip) on 13 - 14 December 2023 to Kota Tinggi, Johor to visit Asia Aquaculture (M) Sdn. Bhd. and to Melaka to visit Crayfish Aqua Venture and Ken Farm Sdn. Bhd. The main aim of this field visit is to expose students to the leading aquaculture industry players in Malaysia focusing on marine shrimp and crayfish sectors. 

The Taekwondo Society's Christmas Carnival Night on December 21, 2023, was a remarkable success, uniting both members and the local community in a festive celebration. The event featured a diverse array of activities that added vibrancy and joy to the holiday season. 

In support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, The Department of Accounting and Business (DACB) in Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) Johor Branch organised a Christmas Sales Event from 1/12/23 to 22/12/23. The purpose of this event is to inspire and encourage entrepreneurship among the students. In addition, it also creates a joyful and immersive environment that captures the spirit of holiday season. The sales event was carried out for three weeks that involves the process of order receiving, packaging and order delivery. This event was extremely successful as there was a total of 70 orders received from the customers which was more than the estimation before the event. All the profit gained was donated to the orphanage (Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Bestari, Segamat, Johor) through the distribution of brand new school bags. By organising this event, the students not only gained the practical business experience but also spread the joy and love to the kids at the orphanage during the Christmas. 

TAR UMT Johor Branch's success at the Kejohanan Sukan Masiswa Zon Selatan 2023 exemplifies the true spirit of sportsmanship and dedication.
