Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) and Local Holdings Sdn Bhd have recently extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further enhance their collaboration. The renewed MoU will be in effect from March 1, 2022, until February 28, 2027. The primary objectives of this MoU are as follows:

Enhancing Academic Knowledge and Industry Best Practices: The parties will collaborate in sharing academic knowledge and exchanging best industry practices to ensure students receive up-to-date and relevant education.

Providing Exposure to Students and Educators: Students and educators will be given opportunities to gain exposure and practical experience in relevant fields, allowing them to develop their skills and knowledge.

Establishing Networking Opportunities: The MoU aims to create networking opportunities between educators and industry experts, fostering a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas and expertise.

Engaging in Industrial Activities: TAR UMT and Local Holdings Sdn Bhd will actively involve students and educators in industrial activities, such as internships, research projects, and industry visits, to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world.

Fostering Partnerships and Long-term Relationships: Both parties will work towards building strong and enduring partnerships, nurturing collaborative efforts, and fostering a long-term relationship based on mutual trust and cooperation.

Through this MoU, TAR UMT and Local Holdings Sdn Bhd reaffirm their commitment to advancing educational opportunities, promoting industry-academia collaboration, and supporting the holistic development of students and educators.

Local Holdings Sdn Bhd

TAR UMT and Powertechnic Handling Equipment (M) Sdn Bhd have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the effective period starting from March 1, 2022, until February 28, 2027. The primary objective of this MoU is to enhance the existing partnership and reaffirm the mutual dedication to collaboration in the following key areas:


- Exchange of academic knowledge and sharing of industry best practices.

- Providing students and educators with valuable exposure, as applicable.

- Facilitating networking opportunities between educators and industry experts.

- Involving students and educators in relevant industrial activities.

- Cultivating enduring partnerships and fostering long-term relationships between the parties.

Through this MoU, TAR UMT and Powertechnic Handling Equipment (M) Sdn Bhd seek to strengthen their cooperation and contribute to the advancement of education and industry practices.

VIP Vision Sdn Bhd

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) and VIP Vision Sdn Bhd have recently formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU, which took effect on 01 March 2022 and will continue until 28 Feb 2027, aims to reinforce the partnership between the two entities and reaffirm their shared commitment to cooperation in the following key areas:


Sharing of Academic Knowledge and Industry Best Practices: Both TAR UMT and VIP Vision will actively exchange academic knowledge and insights from their respective fields, including best practices in the industry.


Student and Educator Exposure: The MoU seeks to provide valuable exposure opportunities for students and educators. This will enable them to gain practical experience and insights from real-world scenarios as applicable to their fields of study.


Networking Between Educators and Industry Experts: The collaboration will establish a platform for educators to connect with industry experts. This will foster a productive exchange of ideas and expertise, benefitting both academia and the industry.


Engaging in Industrial Activities: TAR UMT students and educators will be encouraged to actively participate in industrial activities. This involvement will promote a deeper understanding of industry practices and facilitate the application of academic knowledge in practical settings.


Fostering Long-Term Partnerships: The MoU aims to nurture strong, enduring partnerships between TAR UMT and VIP Vision. The long-term relationship between the two parties will enhance the overall educational and industrial landscape.


Through this MoU, TAR UMT and VIP Vision Sdn Bhd look forward to harnessing their collective strengths to drive mutual growth and advancement in education and industry.

Ma Chung University

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) and Ma Chung University have recently formalized their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MOU is proposed in view of the successful collaboration from both parties where Ma Chung University co-organized the event with TAR UMT Johor Branch. The mentioned event was a virtual symposium titled Inaugural TAR UMT Research Symposium 2023 that was held on 24 February 2023. The MOU can benefit TAR UMT and Ma Chung University through project/ research collaboration from the year 2023 to 2025. The possible project/ research collaboration in these three years includes but is not limited to:


1. Research project(s) and publication: article/ book chapter/ grant.

2. Co-organizing event(s): conference/ symposium/ webinar/ workshop/ training/ sharing session.

3. Review: manuscript/ abstract.

4. Invitation to be a plenary speaker/ keynote speaker/ panel discussion/ moderator/organizing committee.

5. Joint industry projects


For instance, Ma Chung University being a co-organizer for Inaugural TAR UMT Research Symposium 2023 can be considered as an MOU collaboration outcome for the year 2023. Both higher education institutions are expected to jointly produce at least one collaboration outcome for the year 2024 and year 2025 respectively. In case of any co-organizing events involved, the co-organizer from either party is expected to promote through their official website/ social media/ media.


Pertaining to the alternative dispute resolution options, the Parties hereto agree that notwithstanding anything contained in this MOU, disputes arising or relating to this MOU shall be resolved amicably between the Parties by negotiations. This MOU may be terminated by either Party giving the other Party, notice in writing, 2 months’ notice in writing to terminate, or sooner upon mutual written consent of the Parties. In the event of termination, both Parties agree to cease the usage of names, logo and any of the proprietary information of the other Party immediately.

In July 2020, an agreement known as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was established between Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) and Urban Farm Tech Sdn Bhd.

BDO PLT Johor Bahru

In July 2020, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) and BDO PLT Johor Bahru entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), solidifying their partnership.

AFA Strategic Consultancy

On August 15, 2022, TAR UMT and AFA Strategic Consultancy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster collaboration between academia and industry. The virtual ceremony showcased the commitment of both parties to bridge the gap between education and business.
